• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Animal Science or Veterinary Medicine, PhD in Animal Science will be preferred as well as business academic skills like an MBA.

• Successful track record (demonstrable over a sustained period) in the feed additives, animal health or related industries.
• Knowledge & understanding of modern animal and/or feed production processes.
• Extensive experience in setting up animal trials in the field, with a focus on animal health, and the statistical evaluation thereof.
• In depth practical knowledge of the North America animal feed/poultry/swine/ruminant industry, its structure and the key influencers.
• Experienced in publishing scientific articles in both commercial and peer-reviewed magazines.
• Well networked in the Animal Feed Additives industry, and be able to leverage existing relationships.
• Strong communication skills and IT fluency.
• Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple and complex projects. Effective planning and priority setting abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.
• Ability to travel nationally as necessary

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is assisting an established Ag Employer in their search for an experienced Feed Additives Business Development Manager.


• Assess the needs of the local market close to the customers.

• Participate actively in the definition of the short, medium and long term strategy and objectives of Business Development in Animal Feed Additives Division USA and implementation in the specific area.
• Screen & Identify business opportunities: planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives; constant development of new value propositions of existing products and the development of new products.
• Provide technical customer support in the region or take ownership of direct account where needed.
• Set up local trials/ field trials to support the company offer with local data that is relevant for the customers in the region.
• Be first responsible person to solve complaints in the field by visiting customers and driving the investigation of the complaint together with regulatory affairs and Business Development.
• Promote the company and its products at scientific and commercial events in the region by giving presentations or writing content.
• Support the Sales team in the region at local marketing events, exhibitions and fairs.
• Be responsible for the support and training of sales managers and distributors, in order to make them more successful in selling the feed additive portfolio.
• Currently the position has no direct reports but will work closely with Technical Managers and the entire Business Development Team to ensure the correct key messaging is delivered to each category/market segment to optimize customer profitability and retention
