- 5+ years row crop production experience required
- Agronomy degree preferred; Ag-related degrees will also be considered
- 3+ years of experience managing employees
- Excellent communication skills as well as solid business development skills
- Experience with Precision Ag technology and equipment, specifically John Deere Operations Center
- Strong work ethic, detail-oriented, critical and analytical thinking skills
- Self-starter, highly motivated individual with strong communication skills
- Prefer a CDL or the ability to attain it
- Willingness to work longer hours during planting and harvesting season
- Experience marketing commodities a plus


Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a highly motivated, experienced Crop Manager for this northeastern Kansas farm that produces corn and soybeans. This employer is located in the Kansas River Valley and just outside of a thriving university town with the option for good schools, churches, shopping, and entertainment. This is a 5th generation farm and purebred cattle operation looking for an individual who can help maximize the crop farm operation’s potential. The crop manager will be responsible for planning, managing, and executing all functions related to the farm enterprise. We are looking for an individual to be a team leader who can hire, coach, and develop full-time employees and part-time K-State students. As the team leader, the crop manager needs to have experience operating and maintaining equipment related to crop production.

Primary duties to include:
- Day-to-day management of crop operations which will include managing 3000 acres corn/soybean rotation, 14 pivots, 600-1000 acres fall cover crops
- Responsible for managing farm technician(s) and seasonal employees. Duties include hiring, training, coaching, establishing goals
- Maintain all precision farming platforms & records
- Responsible for purchasing and managing inventory of all inputs (including fertilizer, feed, seed, and herbicides)
- Manage farm subsidy programs and crop insurance including timely filings and associated data for NRCS, FSA, and crop insurance company
- Manage leased land-owner relationships including negotiating leases when needed
- Manage harvest records and grain inventory and assist with sales and marketing of commodities
- Develop and execute soil sampling and scouting programs
- Responsible for fertilizer and chemical applications
- Perform data analysis of trials & plots
- Assist in the development of long-term strategic plans and goal-setting
- Run planter, combine, sprayer and all machinery; participate in farming activities
- Oversee equipment assets. Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, repaired, and operational
- Participate in budgeting and managing crop-related expenses
- Any other duties that may be required for the success of the farm
