- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agronomy or related field of study or equivalent experience
- Must have current driver’s license in good standing
- Pesticide Applicator license – Category A and U; must have the ability to obtain and maintain license within a reasonable amount to remain in this position
- Pesticide Applicator license – L3 needed to pursue Agronomy II position
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to perform basic math
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to operate forklift and small tractors
- Ability to wear respirator


Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a On-Farm Agronomist for a farm in northwest Nevada. Assist with fertilizers and chemicals for farm applications. Move, loads, unload and store pesticides and fertilizers. Maintain and record inventory for all stored fertilizer and chemical. Assist with organizing and maintaining the farm books and current computer program for fertilizers and chemicals. Inspect fields and observe growing plants and harvested crops. Monitor crops for pesticides and diseases. Collect and manage data for crop trials. Collect soil and plant samples for agronomic analyzing. Weekly sampling of potato storages at the plant and as needed. Sampling of farm potato storages as needed. Assist with weekly monitoring for quality control, conditions, temperatures and humidity of farm and plant storages. Ongoing familiarization and education for crop production methods and practices. Daily supervision of Agronomy Tech(s) and/or seasonal employees. Assist with other duties as directed. Follow all Company policies and procedures including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), the Food Safety Health and Hygiene Policy, Company Safety Rules and Guidelines, Animal Welfare Code of Ethics, the Nevada Workplace Safety Employee Rights and Responsibilities and Good Agricultural Practices (GAP). Assist with agronomic data and analysis for year-end records. This position may have supervisory responsibility and/or may provide leadership and guidance to temporary staff and/or assist with orientation of new members of the work group. Decision-making is driven by established policy and/or practice; guided by supervision/management.

JOB CONDITIONS The responsibilities of the position are performed in a continual outdoor environment. This position is regularly exposed to wet, humid conditions (not weather related), infrequently exposed to extreme cold, extreme heat, and regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions. Physical hazards such as working near mechanical parts, exposure to fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals occur as would be found in performing the required responsibilities of the position. Safety shoes, hearing protection, respirators and additional personal protective equipment as needed, must be worn to eliminate the risks associated with these hazards. Travel may be required for this position.
