- Valid driver’s license in the state of Nebraska required and insurable with Company’s vehicle insurance policy
- Three years of grain handling systems experience required
- One year management experience required
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
- Basic computer experience
- Must be able to exert up to 75 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and up to 35 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
- Frequent moderate lifting, pulling, pushing, climbing and carrying
- Requires both simple and firm grasping and some fine manipulating
- Ability to distinguish most colors but specifically the following colors: red, green, yellow, blue
Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing a grain operation who is searching for an Operations Manager for elevator located in Nebraska. The Operations Manager primary duty is to manage all operation aspects for the grain elevator. This position supervises the elevator personnel and has the authority to recommend the hire, discharge, advancement and promotion of the elevator personnel. Essential Functions - Ensure compliance with and follow all corporate guidelines and policies - Establish and maintain the highest integrity of Company - Work with all employees in a professional and respectful manner - Maintain confidentiality of all Company information. - Practice the proper use and treatment of all Company equipment and property - Work in a safe manner at all times and participate in and understand environmental, health and safety programs and regulations - Direct all aspects of grain elevator - Responsible for grain loading and shuttle incentives - Coordinate effective communication to Maintenance Manager and Yardman personnel - Coordinate effective communication and support to Logistics Manager and Merchandising Manager - Work closely with the Logistics Manager and Merchandising Manager to identify train or truck needs to keep elevator operating - Minimize outbound discounts - Daily and weekly tracking of grain quality and inventory - Ensure that all grain is segregated accordingly - Maintain the elevator in a clean and operable condition - Plan and implement scheduled and unscheduled work. Coordinate schedule with Logistics Manager and Merchandising Manager - Maintain service records and maintenance records for all equipment in elevator and moving equipment - Maintain the outside appearance of the facility - Responsible for monthly safety inspections and environmental observations - Participate in the budgeting process - Operate within the approved budget - Review all policies and procedures for the operations department to be sure they are documented and up to date - Maintain quality of grain in the elevator – maintain temperature log of grain being stored in elevator - Obtain all grain shuttle premiums that are within Company control - Maintain that rail track is in good and operating condition - Directly supervise elevator activities - Facilitate and promote the cross-training so each yardman can fulfill each operation in the elevator - Ensure that all safety policies and procedures are followed - Assist in safety and environmental audits and corrective actions - Work with Safety and Environmental Manager to ensure that all safety requirements are being met - Be safety conscious and assist others in dissemination of safety information and training in safety procedures. - Make recommendations to Chief Executive Officer and Logistics Manager regarding new ideas that may improve maintenance or operations. Keep a file of such items. - Responsible for housekeeping as related, but not limited to the cleanliness and orderly organization of elevator. - Attend all safety meetings, follow all safety policies and strictly adhere to all standard precautions and practices established to reduce the potential of occupational exposures. - Other duties not listed herein, but which need to be accomplished to maintain safe and timely day-to-day operations within the elevator
