QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with hay production and farming equipment desirable
- Maintenance and mechanical skills, Arc welding a plus
- Experience with irrigation including pivots, k-lines, handlines, wheel lines, water supply maintenance
- Experience with building/fixing fence
- Experience handling/moving cattle
- Knowledge of pasture/grazing management
- Horse riding experience a plus, ranch horses provided
- Hard worker, self-motivated, dependable, honest, multi-tasker, can work independently and with others, good communication skills
- Kind of a jack of all trades, master of none type person, any experience with carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc. a big plus
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a Ranch Assistant for this north-central Washington ranch owner. This person will report to the Ranch Manager. Knowledge of alfalfa hay farm operations is desirable, as well as experience with irrigation, managing water and storage, etc. Will assist in duties such as general repairs, maintenance, cleaning of grounds, buildings, roads and equipment, fixing/building fence, irrigation, monitoring/moving cattle (with horses or ATVs), and other projects as assigned. Must have knowledge of safety policies and procedures regarding chemicals, equipment/machinery. Must work well independently as well as with others, be flexible, and willing to work some long days, some weekends, some holidays, and available periodically for on-call emergencies. Excellent communication skills are needed. Very good opportunity.
