- Prefer 5+ years in a lead position

- Solid ranch background
- Excellent animal health skills
- Practical experience with herd management, nutrition, equipment and property maintenance and management are required
- Team player/motivator
- Handle maintenance and general repair


Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a Ranch Foreman for this Southwestern Nebraska Ranch Producer; a lead person, who has larger scale ranch operations background, including multiple employees and range experience. Foreman will have responsibility for large grazing operation. Person will have direct husbandry duties including extensive riding in addition to leading other production employees. Needs to be self-motivated and able to motivate others, as ranch is progressive with aggressive plans. Practical experience with yearling herd management, nutrition, equipment and property maintenance and management are required. Prefer B.Sc. degree/animal science or related.

- Health: Vaccination Protocols, Doctoring/Diagnosing, Body Condition Score
- Commercial Herd: Maintain Cattle Records, culling etc., Maintain full accounting for each class of cattle
- Nutrition: Mineral program, Take monthly forage samples
- Improvements: Maintain corrals, sheds, fences, Maintain trucks, equipment, Build/implement new improvements
- Cattle Movement: Move/keep cattle where they are supposed to be, Extensive riding
- Range Health: Manage for excellent up trending range health, Annual monitoring, photo points etc., Keep grazing chart record for each pasture
- Financial: Help draft and manage annual operating budget, Stay within budget
- Labor Management: Lead/direct (non-office) employees, Manage part-time, seasonal & day help, Manage with a TEAM approach, creating a positive environment, Meet with management to review Progress on Goals, Actuals vs. Budget etc.
- Innovate: Be progressive minded with a willingness to adopt improved methods of beef production

Additional Responsibilities:
- Direct, coach and train 5-6 employees, plus some part time
- Make strategic decisions on cowherd to ensure high conception/weaning rates

- Develop yearlings for optimum performance and profitability
- Manage rangeland resources for long-term productivity
- Maintain present ranch infrastructure
- Build formalized protocols for all ranch activities
- Develop relationships with farmers from whom we rent cornstalks
