Commission / Bonus: variable income opportunity will be 20%+/- (likely 10% in yr 1, 20% in yr 2, 30% in yr 3) if targets are being achieved.

Qualifications
  • Over 2 years’ experience leading others is required, preference given if leadership experience was provided from a distance
  • 5-10 years sales and/or marketing experience is an asset – must be connected to local AG
  • An understanding of the agriculture industry is mandatory
  • High School Diploma, required
  • Post-secondary education in accounting, agriculture marketing, insurance or other related area is highly preferred
  • Preference given to a candidate with post-secondary degree in one of the listed disciplines
  • Crop Insurance or P&C license is good but not required. It will be within the first 4 months of employment and we help get that done
  • Driver’s license
  • Ability to build trust and foster strong business relationships
  • Strong communication skills including spoken, written and the ability to give effective presentations to groups.

Job Description

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing an Agricultural business who are searching for a Regional Sales Manager, who is a Sales & leadership professional, to coach and guide a growing and dynamic sales team. Primary responsibilities include achieving sales targets, developing the sales team and performing annual performance evaluations. Heavy travel schedule with a home-based office. Compensation is a salary plus variable incentive pay structure.

Duties and Responsibilities

Accountable to the financial outcome of their respective region.

    • Achieving sales targets
    • Working on accounts receivable where needed.
    • Directly involved in resolving any Producer conflicts and/or complaints
    • Assists in marketing/promotional activities as needed
    • Forecasting sales results to the corporate leadership team
Coach, develop and recruit the Regional Sales Team of advisors
    • Coaching the sales staff using the PAA sales approach and training provided by Company.
    • Ensures sales force is acting in accordance with their respective state insurance regulations (note: all sales are required to have the required provincial insurance licensing) – we help with all of this
    • Encourages and motivates sales force to build and maintain relationships with various agriculture lenders (banks, accountants, retailers), with the goal of educating them on what Company offers
    • Motivate and monitor activities of the sales force all year that lead to greater sales success.
    • Aiding the sales staff with producer interactions, including cold calls where necessary, producer meetings, tradeshows, furthering relationships with industry partners, and claims disputes.
    • Recruiting and maintaining the sales force in their region. Asked to use various means to source and recruit sales force (ie: referrals, job advertisements, etc.)
    • Provides ongoing and timely performance feedback to the sales force. Through their coaching relationship.
    • Evaluates each member of the sales force on an annual basis. This involves distributing self-evaluations, discussing the evaluations and setting goals/targets for the coming year
    • Assists in the planning of national meetings. This includes procuring speakers, assisting with the agenda and leading sessions as needed
