  • Bachelors Degree in Agribusiness or related field
  • Strong understanding of commodities, markets and risk management
  • Strong understanding of grain transportation modes and logistics requirements
  • Previous agricultural accounting is a plus
  • General understanding of GAAP requirements
  • High attention to detail is a must
  • Demonstrated commitment to a high level of professional customer service
  • Excellent English communication skills in person, in writing, on the telephone, and via e-mail
  • Computer proficiency using MS Office suite and database management tools.
  • The ability to work well within a team or individually
  • Able to work at a desk (sitting) for long periods of time.
Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is assisting an established Ag Employer in their search for a Commodity Trade Assistant for their Eastern Nebraska Office. The ideal candidate will have an education and experience in grain marketing with a high attention to detail and a high level of customer service. This is an administrative role requiring excellent communication capabilities, high organization, and attention to detail. Other responsibilities include:

  • Make and receive phone calls for the purpose of contracting grain with price sheet provided.
  • Inform customer regarding operating hours, grain moisture limits, DP rates, etc.
  • Communicate with customers via text, e-mail and telephone regarding market news and other relevant information.
  • Conduct contract follow up as required
  • Plan and participate in grower meetings and company events.
  • Process grain checks daily and follow up on outstanding receivables and unapplied grain deliveries.
  • Assist with conducting business after hours and on weekends as needed.
  • Assist with billing grain shipments
  • Assist with scheduling truck shipments and accounting of payments
  • Become proficient in the use of all software programs
